agreed. and it's not as if there have been no good defensive CMs over the last 6 yrs. it's the usual wenger bullshit.
that said, our willingness to stay compact and play on the counter against city away was refreshingly sensible.

This. He then tried to convince everyone that the holding midfielder role was dead and wanted a 3 man midfield with a supporting ball winner between 2 playmakers but was unable to get it to work. Rambo then changed the dynamic yet again by starting as a B2B but now plays as an attacking CM. Yet we've continued to see DLP's partnered with a more physical/defensive partner at the best teams in the CL.
