Same. Better yet buy a top tier CB
Yeah well thats not going to happen....
Out for six months 🙁 Poor guy.
Yeah, poor little millionaire who gets handsomely paid for a prolonged vacation.
Just kidding...
Confirmed he's out for the season so won't play a single competitive minute for Barcelona this season.
You'd think that Barcelona would have learnt by now that buying players from us is no good for them.
Turns out to be a brilliant bit of business by us.
Not replacing him though, not so much.
Technically we replaced him with Chambers. It's status quo actually compared to last season.
Yeah, but we were more lucky with injuries in defence than we had any right to last season.
Not lucky in the slightest, just happened to be one area of the pitch where we suffered a normal amount of injuries.
Anyway, if Chambers was strictly Vermaelen's replacement it wouldn't have been so bad, problem is he's also covering for Jenko.

We lost 3 defenders and replaced them with 2.
Whichever way you look at it, we didn't replace one of them. Since we didn't bring in an experienced CB, I'd say it's Vermaelen we failed to replace.
@oftgoon We have Bellerin now instead of Jenko. So since we were fine last season in defence (regarding injuries) and you feel we suffered a normal amount of injuries, does that mean you actually feel that we're not short depthwise?
Bellerin is playing the same role he played last season which is 3rd choice right back. He's a non factor.
And no, of course we're short depth wise just as we were last season, doesn't change the fact that a player staying fit for around 80% of the season is pretty normal.
I don't think he's any worse than Jenkinson personally, it's basically Wenger who chooses not to use our full depth. Players fit for 80% of the season? That sounds awesome! 😃

Jenks is playing better at the moment than even Debuchy when he was fit.
He's always had that in him. Bar the occasional inexperienced mistakes, he was solid when called upon for us too last season.
Problem is, Chambers is not playing better than them both.
Yep his loan spell has been a huge success his value is sure to increase, Wengers a genius.

I'm not a Debuchy fan, if that's supposed to impress me. He's a mediocre RB, but I'm glad Jenks is doing good. I think he was always good when he got a run in the side, but as a backup when suddenly thrown into it, he didn't do very well. Not that it's anything weird about that.
Poor Jenks, he would have had a decent run in the side only for the bumbling Clueseau.
Jenks time with us is over
As for barca and vermaelen - utter mugs
