Some crackers in here:

I love Tim Cahill's of course, and I think van Persie's is extraordinary as well - such technique. How to judge though? Zlatan's shows such imagination and James's is wonderful. I tend to think - "could I have done that?" and for that reason goals like Cahill's and van Persie's stand above James's. It is so, so hard to whack in a volley from a long pass over your shoulder with your wrong foot, or to cushion a header like that when everyone expects you to control or volley. Not to put James down at all, but his is slightly "easier" (but still of course majestic) because he received the ball much closer and softer.

Mind you, the goal from the Fulham bloke again Palace was pretty bloody amazing. And the one wrong the lass reminds me of Wrighty, so that is worth extra points too.

I'd have Wilshere top too. They don't seem to value team goals at all though. From that list of nominees I'd go with Zlatan.

My favourite remains Ramsey against Norwich when he turned into Bergkamp and left half their team on the floor in the box. Probably vote for Cahill from that lot though.

We see a few amazing Yeboahs every year though; what Zlatan did there has basically only been seen 3 times, and Zlatan has done them all.

Wilshere against Norwich should have won.

As for the rest of them: They're all decent, but Ibra is just taking the piss with that goal. He could have scored half a dozen ways in that situation and he chose the most difficult one because he was bored. Everyone knows he's going to try something and they can't stop him. He's probably scored half a dozen of those volley backheels in his career by now.

Slightly disappointing selection this year otherwise. They have gone for spectacular strikes and ignored everything else.

Goodness - was Wilshere's eligible? Seems so long ago now.

Yep I agree with with you Invis, Ramsey channelled the great spirit of Bergy.
Otherwise Timmy.

burnwinter needn't bother posting his choice after you aussies.

Stephanie Roche's one is brilliant.

Kasami's goal against Crystal Palace and Wilshere's against Norwich were scored on the same day, I think.

This is gonna sound really bad, but I scored a goal like Ibra's in a school match years ago. I really don't think it's as difficult as people make out.

Cahill's is probably the best finish, but I'm always a bit skeptical of how much luck is involved with those one touch finishes. It's almost a bit of a fluke.

Rodriguez's goal is amazing for so many reasons, and that's why I'd vote that as the best.

Yep, we should vote for her seeing as Jack and Aaron were excluded.

It's certainly the goal of the year.

Out of those nominated I think James' is the best.

Sorry Swedes, I seen that Zlatan goal a dozen times in me weekly futsal.

Wilshere shoulda been in there. Ridiculous. We suffered a decade of agony just so Wenger could let us experience that goal. "Boom!" he said, "Zat should sort out ze fans, ze petite whiny fucks"

Funnily enough, Kasami's goal against Crystal Palace didn't even win goal of the week that round. Wilshere's did.
