On reports of him being linked to Arsenal

Never heard of him. Quick google search...

Height: 1.90 m

😃 Get him in!

Huge red flag whenever the player starts talking about their admiration for the club. Definitely not happening.

Usually means there a level below and desperate to come here. As opposed to world class and desperate to go to Real.

4 caps for Germany already at 21

chelsea is interested. his response to the chelsea interest was a come and get me plea to arsenal. "please get me before you rivals do."

When was the last time we pushed the boat out and bought a total unknown who turned out world class? Vieira in 1996?
If rumours (i know, i know!) are to be believed, we passed on the likes of http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11670/2380026/arsene-keen-on-vincents-kompany and http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/8961883/Manchester-City-midfielder-Yaya-Toure-the-one-who-got-away-for-Arsenal-manager-Arsene-Wenger.html

The last unknown to world class is Koscielny.

And we didn't pass on Yaya.

If we count Kos and Ade, then it is one every decade.
Not impressive at all for a manager renowned for developing talent.

hard to be unknown when you're 21 with 4 caps for the best footballing nation going right now.

He's been played at full back for Germany and looked completely out of his depth.

Centre back by Trade for Stuttgart

Then his performance as a FB is not relevant unless that's where we are going to play him?

My point is the 4 caps for Germany is not relevant at all because he's been poor for Germany. Those caps for world champion are not a good judge.

TBH i cannot envisage Wenger spending money on a CB right now.
Unless he is completely mad, our next significant buy has to be a Flamteta upgrade.

We need a CB just as much.

You and i may think so but, knowing Wenger as we do, can you see it?
He has just spent an insane amount, by his standards, on Chambers and he hardly rotates so he cannot keep 4 CBs happy.

In the aftermath of last season my view was that we during the summer needed another CB, a central mid, a direct wide player, and a striker. Wenger really only solved 1 of those with Alexis so, no, I don't have high hopes of him fixing anything any time soon.

If we get that CB, then he may think of using Chambers in midfield though. Using players in positions they are not used to is something he likes to do after all!
