I thought we looked a lot better yesterday after he moved into midfield. I'd really like to see him and Coquelin take the 2 deep positions in the next few matches so we can get our best midfield ready for the Cup final.

... without Cazorla, you mean? I agree we looked better, and Aaron played well - but he played with Cazorla.
I don't see how so many moves are made that just waive Caz. Both players are essential ATM.

The question for me is would our right wing be weaker if we had Bellerin with Theo / Welbeck or Debuchy with Theo / Welbeck?
Would moving Ramsey to the centre be a big enough improvement to compensate?
Welbeck is constantly criticised for being next to useless, going backwards etc
Theo is clearly well short of his best and I reckon it'd be dangerous playing him with Bellerin.

Especially with Sanchez coming deep very often, it'd be good to have a player on the right who gets into scoring positions a bit more than Rambo (not that he doesn't have an eye for goal).

Walcott's not going to hit any heights if we don't play him. He looked quick enough to outpace his man when he came on on Sunday. I'd play him.

To me its simple. Walcott and Sanchez are our most dangerous wide players so they should be our wingers at the moment. Ramsey is our best centre mid so he should start in central midfield.

Walcott is nowhere near his best and being Walcott he'd need 4 to five games to get up to speed plus I reckon playing him with Bellerin would be a big gamble.
I reckon you'd have to sacrifice Bellerin and draft in Debuchy if you want Walcott at his current level.

I don't know, I think Bellerin is a much better defender than Debuchy personally. He just doesn't stay back as much because there's no reason for him to do it. He's quick enough to get back in time if he gets caught too far up. Debuchy isn't, and that's why he needs to be more careful. It might create the illusion of him being more defensive, but really, he's just less useful. 🙂

Debuchy doesn't stay back though. It can be a bit of a problem at times.

Debuchy isn't any more disciplined than Bellerin. I don't think Bellerin needs special covering any more than Gibbs or Monreal do on the left.

For me our forward line shouldn't be selected based on who is the best defensively anyway.
