His ball striking technique has always been top class.
The reason why I always take it easy on my Ramsey criticism is simple: the man never hides. He always puts in a honest shift. Regardless of whether he is being "shit" or being "world class", regardless of whether he's got his hair and nails done or not, he never stops trying. His application is constant.
I can't find fault with his attitude, and inevitably his ability always catches up.
Plus he seems to have a quiet but strong personality on the pitch, unlike other members of the British core, who I feel are a bit timid and soft - yes, I'm looking at you Gibbs.
Ramsey is the sort of player we should have captaining the side.
Shame, flo - this was a top post till you got to Gibbs 🙂Â
(but it's alright, I'll accept. As you should that Gibbsy's ""timidness" is definitely lessening, and he's tougher each year. He was, indeed, way too soft at first, I accept that).
As for Ramsey, the bolded part is in essence what I think as well - add that this is not limited to game time, the dude always works hard, he's always determined and never fazed. When you consider the lows he's been in in recent years, that's nothing short of admirable, and you really can't design a more cruel, exposing scrutiny than that. If you don't break through all of that, tough as nails is an understatement. And he not only did not crumble, but he seems to have gained from it. Just a few weeks ago, still in the heart of his duddery, he was standing tall and spoke in an open manner about his situation and confidence of regaining his form..
I'm not going to worry much if he has 2-3 games now where we actually don't see this perfect form. For all the above reasons, I just know he'll get there. Can't think of too many people who have "class is permanent" so perfectly fit them.
