He got away with it though.
Champions League 2014/15
That Marcelo guy is so hot right now.
Was a brilliant goal. Marcelo is such a classy player too; he never loses his head, and he has the technique to get out of pretty much any situation without having to resort to hoofing the ball away.
Was an incredibly boring game though IMO.

He's almost as bad as Ramos and that ape Pepe.
I'd kill somebody to have Marcelo, Ramos, and Pepe in Arsenal's back line. FFS, Madrid are European champions for a reason.
Can't lie; I think Marcelo is the best leftback Madrid have had since I started to watch football regularly. Bloke's a genius player.

Oh dear.....
They are obviously all top players; I'm talking about them "never losing their heads". Pepe especially should have been put down a long time ago.

Probably has a little more to do with the 0.5bn front 6!

You didn't watch football regularly during the Roberto Carlos era?
I like Marcelo too. His defensive positioning can be horrible at times but he will always give you much more in attack to compensate for it. That's how most Brazilian fullbacks are anyway.
Marcelo is a top class defender too, and has been for at least the last 4 years. He is better than Roberto Carlos ever was. Now that was a guy who couldn't defend to save his life.
He looked a little hopeless defensively at the World Cup.
Yeah. Just this season, Coentrao was preferred for a little while. Marcelo won his place back fairly quickly, he's very good LB. Just not a very good defender.
Agree. Not a lazy generalisation that all full backs who love to get forward are bad defenders, Dani Alves for example was world class in attack and a top defender as well. Marcelo is also terrific going forward, suspect defensively though, especially in 1v1 situations.
No, he isn't. And Dani Alves was never a top defender. So there.
Dani Alves was as shit as can be defensively.

Didn't you just say yourself that he's not a very good defender?
Alves is one of the best full backs of all time for me. There have been many better defensively, but not even the likes of Cafu exerted as much influence on a game like he did at Sevilla, he was running games from RB.
I said Marcelo is brilliant and that Dani Alves was never a good defender. Dani Alves is also one of the biggest cunts of all time in football.

That's what I think too. He's been slacking off a little bit for the last year or so, but Marcelo has this very rare ability to defend properly despite the fact that he does such an important job in the attack. He basically never got found out by anyone because he was so good in both ends.
