not sure how a starting CB on the second place team in the league can be on a "Worst XI". i know he hasnt been the best in the league, but he surely hasnt been the worst

Koscielny wouldnt deserve to be there either.. maybe we want better, but there are certainly worse ones out there

Funny how everyone seems so certain Kos is worse than Squill. I haven't really felt that to be the case, and they've both had bad performances.

Yeah, I quite agree, but I find the other question (which of them is better / more reliable / more error-prone) more interesting.

I think that list was not necessarily the worst players in the league, otherwise it would be populated by scrubs from the lower end of the table. Most of the players on the list are quite good, including Squillaci. The common thread is that they have all failed to live up to expectations (mostly ours, but his own in the case of Balotelli).

Yeah - that's also true. And being a journalist he's courting controversy.

As the column states, half the issue is not that Squillaci / Koscielny aren't living up to expectations, but that perhaps they were never quite signings at the level that should have been expected to begin with.

Nor of Sébastien Squillaci – and given that he, unlike Stearman, is not a player who has earned his crack at the Premier League by helping the team get there in the first place, but a cut-price squad player whom Arsène Wenger deliberately signed when he could have afforded much better, his errors seem less forgivable.

By that standard, Chamakh should be on the list too, though obviously he hasn't had a terrible start to the season either.

Oh, and Barton can fuck off - the guy's a prize cunt. Don't care if he's ahving a good season. Parker though I'd love to have here.

Asa, don't you think we need a bit of a cunt in that dressing room? Someone who will get a little passionate when we have to go out to meet Chelsea rather than trotting out like a lamb before slaughter. We need more guts. One would hope that the opportunity would be big enough to instill just enough discipline in him that he doesn't put out a cigar in Bendtner's eye.

That's pretty much it. There's cunts, and then there's Joey Barton. There's passion, then there's stubbing cigars out in people's eyes. There's aggression, and then there's GBH.

Barton can fuck off - we can get all we need without relying on him, and whilst I agree that a fair few of our players need an almighty kick up the arse, I'd rather it wasn't someone like Joey Barton giving it.

Barton is a talented player but a genuine cunt and not someone I would want anywhere near Arsenal despite what he may be able to bring to the squad.
