If it is a loan, I do hope that an option to buy is included. What we don't want is United opting not to buy a 30 year old Falcao on astronomical wages next season while Welbeck goes back to them a much improved player.

Welbeck wants a permanent deal, Arsenal wants a permanent deal, United wants a loan deal. Still negotiating.

Meanwhile, Sporting rejected our bid for Willy and says they will sell if we pay up his full valuation. They have already signed a replacement for him.

Have to agree with Capi otf. Welbeck is decent but has the potential to be so much better with the right support in the right system. He can be a really good player especially with the likes of Walcott and Sanchez on he wings flanking him and Ozil behind.

He's a good player, didn't want him going to Spurs; good combination player, good athlete, but he's average in front of goal. Would happily take him as backup to a quality starting striker. Unfortunately we have Giroud....and even he's out for ages.

according to the telegraph, united is paying 24m GBP to loan falcao, and yes, this includes 345k/week wages.

Is he supposed to be a reject just because he didn't get much playing time ahead of Rooney and RvP? I like him as a player. Surely can't be much worse than Giroud, too.

He'd probably be ahead of Giroud for me Ricky. Like you said he's got good athleticism and link up play however his finishing is definitely better than Girouds. Look at some of his goals over the years and Giroud doesn't have that variation of finishes. All the whilst playing on the wings in support roles.

What's worse is that Chambers is the only backup to Debuchy, Koscielny and Mertesacker. Even if we had kept Vermaelen we would have needed more players.

We've got the ability to write blank cheques too if we wanted, and Gazz said we had the ability to adsorb dropping out of the CL. :egg:

Tbf out style suits Welbeck much more than United's. He will definitely look like a better player here.
