Criminal if we don't bring anyone in today. Although we are desperate for improvements at ST and DM, we are simply short of number in defence. At this rate our backup fullbacks are also our backup centre backs. Surely Wenger can't leave us that short?

If Arsenal had actually bid for Cesc and he rejected us, it would have been reported everywhere and been the story of the summer.

Everything gets reported these days, yet there were ZERO reports of us trying to sign Cesc.

I remember Wenger saying that after he said he didn't want Cesc because we had Ozil, and implied that after than he ended where he wanted. I don't really think Cesc is the most righteous person but given how concerned he is with his image, he would have loved to come back to a mostly adulating crowd. 'Wouldn't believe anything coming out of Mourinho's mouth.

In any case, if we were going to play 4-1-4-1 and not upgrade on the CF, then why not pay the money to get him, that's what does my nut in.

The problem is that we have one upgrade and three replacements that are similar in quality. Seriously, the less said about that spanish louse the better. We're not in this situation because Fabregas didn't feel like coming to us. We're in this position because we've fiddled our thumbs for the last three transfer windows. You could see it coming last summer when we only added two players to that miserable bunch, and it was even clearer in January. We've had a decent window. There was just too much work to be done. And that in itself is related to an organisational problem within the club that has been prevalent for a very long time now. They all deserve sharp criticism for the way the squad looks.

No they weren't. They already signed one big striker in the summer and Drogba too. Making up stuff as you go along. 😆

I suppose we couldn't compete with Eto'o for the wages with Everton or couldn't snap up Bony despite him still having a clause. Poor Arsenal tried their very best and there was no way possible for us to improve upon Sanogo or Flamini.

Wenger never said that Fabregas rejected Arsenal in favour of Chelsea, in any case, Klaus is right. Problem is bigger than that.

Ok so Chelsea didn't wait and signed Remy at the start of the window.

We signed sanchez at the start of the window they signed Costa. Then we were both hoping more quality forwards would become available but since they didn't Remy was a plan c for both clubs. Either club could have signed him at the start of the window.

ambiguous words from wenger that could easily mean, after arsenal's rejection he had the choice to go anywhere he wanted and he chose them so he's where he wants to be. but there is nothing ambiguous about cesc's statement, it's detailed and matches up with what everyone else knew about the buy back option that was disclosed at the time of his transfer to barca.

and of course jose is going to say whatever it is he said.
