How is it a shit deal? It's about the cost of signing a Cavani for 45m-55m plus his wages over a 4 year deal even accounting for a re-sale of 5-10 at 32. It's what you pay for a top striker.

I would have loved Falcao but you don't look at overall cost.
There is a wage structure in place and you can't smash it for a player on loan. Falcao's weekly wage is more than double of our highest earner.

Everyone is going on about the striking options but we have Arteta/ Flamini in midfield and a 19 year old back up CB. We have only Debuchy, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs and Monreal as senior back four options. 6 players for 4 positions counting Chambers. There should be 8 players.
Not signing a striker won't destroy us but if we don't sign a proper midfielder to upgrade on Flaminia nd Arteta and don't sign a center back, then we are screwed.
Falcao to United - that's finished me. I don't even have words to express my contempt for a management that tries to pawn us off with a squad that currently features only poor Yaya Sanogo as it's only recognised striker.

He's not to blame for missing out on Remy and Falcao, no. Everyone says we were in for them and willing to match other's offers.
Go back to when we signed Ozil and read the statement from the club about how Kroenke wants to invest money and wants the club to win. Then listen to Wenger's interview praising the good work done by others to get the Ozil deal done. All Wenger did was point to the one he wanted and then talk to the player on the phone.
