Neymar takes a penalty while messi still on the pitch. ..and misses.

Usually backfires when the main penalty taker is on the pitch and doesn't take it.

Did he pass it on cos it shouldn't have been a pen?

I have no idea. Never seen him do that before.

Never ever backfire for us when Lauren does those.

Did he take many penalties with Henry on the pitch? Didn't see Lauren play much. Not that one example is a counter argument to my post anyway, considering I said "usually" and not "always".

He took a penalty against Spurs once. Henry couldn't do it because he had to leave the pitch temporarily after receiving medical attention and wouldn't be allowed on until the game was restarted, and Wiltord was a bottler who didn't want it. So Lauren just walked up and snatched the ball, because he was incredibly cool. And the spuds were all: "Yees! Their rightback will take this one!" And then he scored and they all looked like rain soaked cats.

Henry never ever take a penalty when he wins it.

Henry wanted to take that one though. He loved to troll Spurs. He would have had to take it anyway because all the other good options were gone. Bergkamp and Edu were next in line, and neither were on the field. And Wiltord didn't want it.

Bergkamp stopped taking penalties after the 1999 FA Cup miss, didn't he?

I think Lauren was number 3 anyways.

Lauren was/is boss. The only ex player i saw that i wish stayed on at the club in some capacity.

Unfortunately you only get bozos like Adams and Campbell knocking on the door.

Oh yeah. Right. Edu was 2nd in that case. Wiltord was 3rd. I remember reading an article about this particular penalty a while back.

I used to have an art print of that picture where Phil Neville begs for his life but Lauren keeps strangling him because he has already entered kill mode. I lost it a few years ago when I was moving. It still bugs me.

Yeah, that's the one. Not sure how I stumbled over the link the first time.

Lauren scored a couple of penalties against Spurs I think, one during the run-in of 2002 and then in that 4-5 game in 04. My favourite Arsenal right back, would always give it his best every game.

I made two bets with a friend a couple of days ago; that Messi would become top scorer in La Liga, and that he would be top assister. My friend, of course, bet on Ronaldo. Messi was five goals behind Ronaldo at that point. Ronaldo had no goals, but one assist yesterday. Messi scored a hattrick and got one assist today.

Suarez scored with a brilliant bicycle kick.

It was an okay goal. Bit unspectacular as far as bicycle kicks go. I was more impressed with Neymar. That kid is going to pick up a couple ballon d'ors during his career.

To put it this way, I think we've both said "great goal" to Arsenal goals more fitting to be described as "an okay goal" than this one.
