Fernando looked decent for Porto in the CL; good defensively and decent (limited) passing skills.
I was far more impressed with Fernandinho at Shakhtar but I think he's been played out of position at City. He didn't look a defensive player to me at Shakhter, he was their pass master in midfield. I have seen him dominate games with his passing and ball playing skills. Mkhitaryan was their #10 but he was less of a passer, more of a runner and goalscorer. Fernandinho and Willian (now a workhorse at Chelsea) were the main creative passers in that side.
