i agree, but maybe it'll force a change in the board from ownership (which may already be coming this summer). i don't really have any faith that any new boardmembers would have a clue, either, but it can hardly get any worse.

Re: Inter, they basically have unlimited oil money. They should win the league every year.

They are doing worse than us this season. They have funds we can only dream of due to their owner, and yet they are 6th in the league, out of their domestic cup and will soon be out of the CL as well.

All in all, comfortably doing worse than us.

Sorry Humble, Milan did "worse than us" for a couple years too.. but all of these teams in question have bought real players and have actually won silverware. Inter won the title for 4 straight years and also won the CL. we are also out of all our competitions, so how are we any better off than they are? oh, and how are they "about to be out of the CL"?

maybe the problem with us is that teams like Inter actually HAVE higher expectations. Out expectations are too low, and our players personify that

you're missing the forest for the trees. one bad season but loads of trophies over the last 7yrs.

In the last couple of years - Real Madrid. They have easily under achieved way worse than us.

And we've done two leagues and three FA cups in that time frame so is it a case of underachieving or unrealistic expectation?

Forget money and stadiums, even club loyalty for a moment, expectations have been warped severely. Barca, for instance, went seven years without a trophy, Liverpool are up to six, something a bit mental happened but Juventus are about 6-7 years.

Capi is right. Both in the short term, this season, and long term as in the last decade - there are bigger clubs than Arsenal that have performed well worse than us.

Madrid have been poor but at least over the last 3 or 4 seasons they can claim that domestically they were been going up against the bestest soccer team of football players that ever kicked a ball. Last season, we let a miserable Manchester United team walk to the title, and several times before that we let beatable United and Chelsea teams win the league. The only teams that were beyond us were the treble-winning United team and the first Mourinho Chelsea team. In other years, we just failed to make an impression

Inter are a financial basket case. We might as well compare ourselves to Chelsea or City.

That of course is not to say that I don't also think mistakes are being made at Arsenal.

united treble winning team wasn't beyond us, the season after they were.
