Agree he has not looked out of his depth since he joined. Did not expect him to be used at CB so soon, but he has, whether by design or by circumstance, and it has worked so far. I like his composure on the ball, but think he needs to distribute the ball a little quicker as he looked to me quite close to getting caught on the ball a few times.
I think three factors have contributed to the manager including him so early and Chambers rewarding that faith thus far. Firstly, he has played enough games at this level last season which takes away the risk of blooding a completely raw youngster. Had he only a handful of games behind him, I think he would most likely started in the reserves with Miqel taking his place. Secondly I also think it is to his advantage that he has been afforded an opportunity in the first team so soon as I reckon it helps integration and is a boost to his confidence. Lastly, having thrown him in so early, I also believe that the position of CB is the easier/less risky of the three positions he can play. As a CB, his main concerns are defensive, while at RB or DM, he will have to balance his defensive duties with some attack responsibilities as well.
Overall it seems like we got him at the right time and he looks to be potentially excellent signing.
