wilshere is the complete opposite of coq. i think that would be a disaster. id rather have cazorla play that role. or better yet, we actually sign a defensive midfielder who can play the role.
Arturo Vidal

Alternatively a 4321 Christmas Tree type with 2 narrow AMs behind a lone CF?
EDIT - or even the 4222?

Yeah, I don't think I'd want it personally. But I could see Wenger doing it.
If this is real, a manly tear will be shed. Vidal has been my dream midfielder since 2011. We know he loves juve, but he might have realised the current team has peaked and they're looking to refresh?
Fuck this rumour will kill me
Anyone actually remember whether he even was the first one to report the Alexis deal?
If we sign Vidal then I can see Wenger playing with Sanchez as the main striker.
If Wenger does this madness, there will be no way back for him
I think this might be real??!!
When twitter Dean confirmed Cech last Friday right after talking to his source, he immediately starting tweeting questions about Vidal in a way that made it seem as though he'd just heard something without him actually saying it.
Meanwhile Geoff has said that he'd be surprised if we signed Schneiderlin because he thinks Wenger has higher sights. Could this be real!
So this is happening? Nice.
Can't believe I just saw a comment elsewhere from someone saying that whilst he is world class do we actually need him = WTF???
When is the Copa America over?

Alternatively Vidal also suits playing Walcott as CF - although I'd prefer to see a switch to a
Would we play Vidal next to Coquelin in a B2B role in a 4231/4222?
He probably meant that we need a DM while Vidal isn't necessarily one. If we sign Vidal, I don't care where he plays. He's just so good that you find a place for him.

Chile are into the S/F v Peru.
Potential short term down side to this being that AW has already said Sanchez is likely to miss the start of the season re the Copa, & Vidal would also do so. Even if we do sign him Aw needs to make sure we cover them both until they return, as he has said that we can not afford a slow tart to the season.

Pretty sure it was him. Apparently he's not a journo though but a TV personality, could be a fucking janitor I'm already too invested in this to stop
I kind of feel like this will happen because he's a brilliant player we don't really have a natural place for. Seems very recent Wengery.
Now what was that talk re Cavani & PSG wanting Giroud?

It's also very much like AW in that he's looking to improve overall capability rather than directly addressing the spine, whereby the whole (number of players) used in the area of the pitch achieves the same outcomes as if for a purpose built spine.
I'm going to consider this a birthday present to me from Mr Wenger!
What I wouldn't give to believe this is true. Ramsey and Vidal together in the same midfield!
