and we have more money today than we had last year this time. a sanchez type transfer is not a reflection of new found wealth and stability, so i don't want to read about us flexing if we just sign sanchez. vidal in addition to that would be a reflection of our current financial status. if juve "only" want 40m euros for him, you hand over the money quickly before they realize that's really cheap for a player of his ability (and need filling) and say nice doing business with you and skip away.

You win things by spending money on players who make sense within the team. Ramsey and Vidal doesn't make sense to me as the two central midfielders behind Özil.
I don't know. Vidal is a brilliant ball winner. It'd take a tactical tweak but it might be worth it. I think we'd need another Sagna style full back who is more defensive than attacking though if got him.
All academic anyway, we're not getting Vidal.

will never happen. we should've gotten him before juve did - he didnt even cost that much. would be perfect for us.
He seemed intent on going to Juventus then, but I still feel we should have made a substantial offer at the time. However, we certainly have the money to get him now too.
