City were abysmal this time last year. If their shit is together already, they and Chelsea should pull away. Funnily enough, that Liverpool team we saw today is probably good enough for 3rd still. More of the same, really. City's movement at times - the quick interchanges with Nasri, Silva and the strikers - is breathtaking.

felt this way for a long time now. just doesnt seem like we know what we're doing on either side of the ball. our attacks arent as well-rounded as they used to be, either, if you know what i mean. they lack variety. defensively, we rely on individuals and on the opposing team not having the quality to punish our mistakes. that's why we get creamed in the big matches - top teams do have the quality to punish our mistakes.

hard to say how much of it was the players intuition and how much was coaching. overall we just looked well drilled defensively and technically good everywhere, like the current top sides in the league. our current side for all it's talent isn't a patch on the unity and clarity with which our 98-2004 sides played

Will have to see they react to a poor run, especially when games mount up. Think they have a lot of talented but fragile characters. They were on the crest of a wave last season.

Chelsea aren't as good, but they could finish above City. Can't see anyone else doing it though.

Everton look to be getting Eto'o. Thats a good fit I reckon. They'll push hard for 4th again this season.

Costa is injured apparently, might be out for up to five weeks. My initial reaction is to laugh at Chelsea fans. My second reaction is wtf will I do with my fantasy team. Thankfully, my initial reaction is the far more important one.

6-0 thrashings and never beating Mourinho might have something to do with that.

Di Maria has been alright but United are unbelievably poor at the moment. Evans is barely a Championship player on current evidence and the rest of their defence isn't much better. I thought van Gaal played Blackwell as a joke to begin with but it looks like he was being serious.

I like David Jones and Lucas Jutkiewicz in Burnley though. Both look like they're going to be useful for them this season. Jason Shackell has been good at the back too.

Still early in the season obviously but they look worse than they did last year. Even more clueless in defence and just hoofing it forward for attacks among a load of sideways passing.

I was gutted when the free kick from David Jones hit the bar early in the first half. That was a great strike.
