I know they aren't as popular, they just wish they were, which is why they are a little jealous. Their title winning sides aren't spoken about as fondly as ours are, our United's are. They have nothing to talk about from previous decades.

Maybe in India but here in London they don't really care. And they're not many of them (relative to the other big clubs).

This is just a blip in Chelsea's history. They'll go back where they belong soon enough. There's simply no room for this many top sides in one country and I'm pretty sure Chelsea will fall off eventually.

I've not looked too carefully at their finances but i struggle to see how they can maintain their level after Abramovich. They'll hang around for a bit, make some bad investments and eventually fall off.

They are just a boring club. There is nothing magical about them like Liverpool, United, or Arsenal. They can win the world cup and not even their fans will give a shit.

Yeah that's very true.

There's something magical about Liverpool?

Of course there is. Do you think '89 would be lauded so much if it was West Ham or Bolton?

How so? I can't think of a single instance where anyone has ever said: "Boy, that Liverpool team is absolutely magic." No one liked them back when they were winning stuff because they were impossibly boring and no one's liked them ever since. No one except scousers look forward to those 'magical nights' on Anfield. There's nothing about them that makes them bigger than the pitch they play on. Champions League has been better off without their shit brand of football for the last five years.

If they were the current title holders and were about to win a second time? Absolutely.

Well that's up to you. I believe the football culture of the two northern clubs and the success built upon it makes them special.

Of course Liverpool are a bit special because of the 70s and 80s.

Pretty much everything except Istanbul since 1990 has been an embarrassment for them though, so that's about a quarter century of crap.

You have to grant your opponents their dignity and history otherwise what's the point of beating them?

Fine. Liverpool are special the same way Aston Villa and Everton are.

Anfield is magical. I don't think anyone can deny that.

Liverpool will always be a special club, no matter how much you hate them you can't just say that are Everton or Aston Villa.

Now City will be their flagship club then. Shame we also binned Nike at about the same time.

They aren't making any history. For all the trophies they have won or will win, they will not get the respect our sides have got. Globally for most supporters, they are still a club who have bought / bored their way to trophies.

Abrahimovic knows it too, which is why managers there keep changing. They don't fill out on some Champions League nights.

Neither do we. It doesn't mean we're small (and we're obviously bigger than Chelsea).

And the managers keep changing because Abromovich doesn't know what he wants.

He knows exactly what he wants, he wants Chelsea to win playing like poncy Barcelona, but thats not possible in the PL hence all the toing and froing.

They genuinely think were a rival to them.
