It's the vast amounts spent prior to Mourinho returning that forms or funded most of the squad.

There were retards who loved to show that we had negative net spend year after year and yet got top 4 for a few years now, it's nothing new.

Misleading because inherited a strong squad, around 7 or 8 of his first team players he inherited. Though his club did manage to rinse Man Utd and PSG within a year for almost £90m for players who probably aren't worth half of that!

But one thing I do rate is since joining how he has gone out and bought exactly what the squad needed. He hasn't left many gaps in the squad, you can see quite clearly they had a plan for what his squad needed and bought very well. In January and the summer they rectified most of the problems in the squad. Their biggest weaknesses were a DM, CM and strikers and gone out and bought probably the best players available in those areas. It's not coincidence that they are top, they've bought well and players who fit his system as well. Don't really like the guy so can't say I'm overly thrilled about praising him!

Don't forget they also bought who was arguably the best LB in Europe last season too, and got Curtois 'for free'. I wonder, has any club in recent history had 2 transfer windows in a row as good as Chelsea's last two?

Felipe Luiz is who I was thinking of and, personally, I didn't see a better LB last season.

Moron sold De Bruyne, Mata, and Sideshow Bob at ridiculous prices, and also sold Lukaku at about market value price. As a bonus he managed to get rid of Torres too who had been stinking it up for a few years. Then he brought in Matic, Costa, Felipe Luiz, Fabregas and Curtois. That is pretty effin' impressive! As an afterthought, he also added Remy and Drogba. Just to take the piss.
