I think thats pretty much what everyone thinks. Should have won the CL with that side.
Should have won three back to back titles too.
Should have really won the treble in 2004, double in 2003.
Thinking back I can't believe how many finals we bottled, that we should have won comfortably.
00-01 Uefa Cup, 00-01 Fa Cup, 06-07 Carling Cup, 11-12 Carling Cup and that UCL Final...

You can't say we wouldn't have won in 05-06. We fluffed many clear chances.
In 07-08 had we gone past Liverpool I believe we would reach the final as well. We totally dominated them over 2 legs.
We'd have gone out to Chelsea in the Semis 2008, I'd assume. Against ManUre in the final, it would've been tough too, at least.
I think Tony is referring only to the years 01-04.
04 is definitely the year we should have won it. Best team we have had and it was Monaco in the semi then Porto in the final. Although knowing what we know now, Wenger wouldn't have beaten a Mourinho side in the final.
If Wenger does the job then, Mourinho's life takes a completely different path. None of this nonsense we've suffered for ten years.

Not controversial at all. That team was the greatest collection of individuals I've seen in my life to wear the shirt at the same time, with a better manager who knows what they would have achieved.
Better manager would have collected even better individuals.
We should have won more trophies.
Also should have crossed milestone of 50 unbeaten games.

harsh. building that side on a shoe string budget and having them play the way they did was an incredible accomplishment. we just didnt have the dosh to fill out the squad properly. now we have the dosh but sadly wenger has lost his mind
Agree with Ultimate Warrior in the CL draw thread that the CL is dull until the knockout rounds. I hate getting easy groups and prefer more glamorous ties to spice things up. Everyone knows Arsenal gets knocked out easily early. For Arsenal it's just a cash cow.
It annoys me that we're seeded first every year.
I love easy groups. I love Arsenal going as deep into the tournament as possible. I barely care about what our passage will be just like no one cares when teams like Chelsea make it far through relatively easier draws.

We rarely go deep into the tournament even when we get easy groups. We never prepare properly for harder ties so I couldnt care less about squeezing passed a maribor. I'd prefer to see glamour which is what the CL is all about.
The CL doesn't start til February anyway. The rest is just cash.
