This will be FIFA's worst nightmare. As a repeat offender he can't exactly say "I'm sorry" or "I didn't mean it." And surely FIFA can't afford to take the soft option as they will look weak in dealing with a player who has a history of doing this so their whole Fair Play thing goes out the window. But FIFA will also not want to be setting a precedent that has to be followed in the future.

Thank heavens he's not one of our players in any case. Will be funny seeing how Scousers try to defend him and justify it.

I also saw a post match interview with Suarez where he was asked about the incident and lied to the whole world on top of his biting. He said that it was a duel and he clashed his head against Chiellini's shoulder. Not even man enough to tell the truth once he had had time to cool off, take a shower, and calm down.

lol @ people saying a dangerous tackle or elbow is worse. yes, they can do more damage, but that type of physical contact is common in football and has the potential to go wrong. biting - for the 3rd time - is heinous, premeditated, unhinged, and has no place in the game
