I don't think it's elitist, all else being equal I'd take today's Arsenal that looks like it might be on the cusp of a bit of success over Monaco or PSG.

A league title at PSG or Monaco doesn't mean much under current circumstances and Monaco in particular is a grab-bag of declining mercenaries that isn't anywhere near CL champions quality either. The only "adventure" there will be at the casino …

But no need to slate Khedira until we actually know what his decision is, and even then all due respect to motivations he may have completely outside of football.

PSG is one thing, but Monaco? Hard to take any footballer seriously if in his last big move he's going to a club with an average attendance of under 9,000.

yea, instantly lose respect for any footballer who isnt past it that goes to monaco. psg i can understand, and in the end, it's better for football if ligue 1 becomes a stronger league.

but i digress - if we end up with schneiderlin or bender or carvalho, that's fine with me.

I really like Khedira, but I feel all the other options we are linked with won't be that inferior, or maybe they will suit our game and what we are looking for even more.

Positioning and style > Big Names.

Khedira brings more to the table than simply his playing style. He's a world renowned player who stands taller than most players in the pre-match tunnel. If that's not going to be an intimidating presence for opposition players, than I don't know what will. He fights completely for the team and would be the first in line in any scuffle. He's a leader in most senses of the word, and would be a powerful character to have in the middle of the park. Comparisons with Schneiderlin and Bender are simply futile. Like comparing Sanchez to Remy.

I don't think Kheidra is really a scary presence in the tunnel. He's a very good player but he's not Vieira or Keane.
