After Barcelona there was at least the notion bandied around that Guardiola would be able to use a different set of players at his disposal and utilize them in a system, and with tactics, that best suited them. Turns out he is a one trick pony who was blessed with having the best possible group of players in their prime, already drilled to play the sort of game he wants.

Khedira is in the last year of his contract too. The guy is expensive, no question about that.

Kheidra obviously wants a big contract or else he's going to wait till he's a free agent and mame a shit load for himself.

He is a quality player I'd like to see us sign but there are other options that make more sense at this stage.

El Confidencial reporting that Khedira wants to stay at Real Madrid. Allegedly, they were the first to break the Kroos transfer and have supplanted Marca as Madrid's main mouthpiece in recent times.

It's not great for fans but this CM/DM signing is one that we can afford to be picky and wait until deadline day. With a full summer's rest Arteta can do a good job for the first 5-6 games. The RB, striker and GK signings were the ones we needed to take care of quickly and we've almost done that.

I agree, as much as I want Khedira there are other options that aren't a million miles off. I don't think we should get bogged down as long as we have back ups and go for them instead of keeping our powder dry.

Doubt it. Kroos will nick Alonso's place at Real. Khedira or someone similar will still be needed as the pressing midfielder who can make room for him.

Moreso, i would imagine, after seeing his performance at the WC.
Players also have to factor in the amount of tax they have to pay (remember Arshavin's comments?) and collecting tax is the one thing we still lead the world in.

think france is much worse for that. pogba's good but too attack-minded for what we need.

i agree about khedira being overpriced compared to kroos. and with his wage demands, might as well forget about it. schneiderlin back on? lars bender?
