Was not directed at anyone specifically, but there are plenty around who need to get a grip. When top, top players like Khedira become available, you buy them and make it work. Tactics can always be altered, players can always play different roles and reinvent themselves. Its all about the manager making it work and we all know Wenger is capable of doing what's needed in this department.

If we sign Khedira, then it will be the first time since Gilberto/Vieira that we have two proper, strong, physically imposing central midfielders in Khedira/Ramsey at the base of our midfield.

Which one of those guys is not a massive improvement on Arteta or Flamini? I'm happy with any of the three. In fact, I am happiest with the cheapest of the 3 because I don't think the best guy in that group is so much better than the weakest guy to warrant a 50 - 80% premium in price. We need to save some money for goalie, right back and striker

Think it's mostly guesswork but stories are Khedira won't sign a new contract with Real Madrid because he wants more money. So Real Madrid don't mind selling. Arsenal don't mind paying £20m odd but don't want to give in to silly wage demands.

Personally I think the rumour that Khedira wants more money from Real Madrid stems from the fact that he hasn't signed any contract extensions since he joined them four years ago. I'd wager that he's one of the worst paid starters in their squad.

I'm begining to wonder if perhaps while Khedira might be the more exciting signing, Schneiderlin would be the better one. Since I haven't watched enough of both I'm going on everything I've read about each player's style of play and the fact that Schneiderlin is PL-ready, younger, cheaper and most importantly more suited to what we need. With Khedira we'd be committing mega-wages to a 27 year old most suited to play Ramsey's role.

Khedira is just a lot better than Schneiderlin. I really don't understand why there are reservations about whether a midfield base of Khedira and Ramsey can cut it; they are both top all round central mids!

Khedira is good enough and smart enough a player to adapt his game to a role other than a "Ramsey Role".
I hope Wenger doesn't subscribe to this notion that top all rounder midfielders can't adjust to different roles and systems - signing Schneiderlin instead of a superior player such as Khedira would be treading water.
