Doesn't really belong in the football section as it has little to do with football and a lot to do with racism.

There is no suggestion at present that he was involved in either the pushing or the chanting but he could be a vital witness in the inquiry.

Don't want sin bins. Not fussed about the offside rule, but the older one would make it easier on refs and probably improve their accuracy.

I think it'd be stupid to revert. Imagine a goal scored from a corner being ruled offside because one of your mates who took a corner didn't move off the corner post in time.

I approve of everything Figo has there.

Reverting back to the previous interpretation of the offside rule may not be the best thing, but it is certainly better than what we have today where it is totally arbitrary whether someone is offside or not. At least with the old rule it was clear to everyone whether it was offside or not.

I kind of like the idea of sin-bins instead of yellow cards, and something before a red card. I think we could get rid of a lot of the tactical fouling we see today to stop potentially dangerous counter attacks if the punishment was 10 minutes or so out of the game. Moron for one would have to re-think his whole strategy...

He should run on clearing up the handball rule too; when the ball touches the arm - handball. None of this 'was it intentional or not' crap. While he is at it, he should look to abolish the stupid red card rule for goalkeepers in 1 v 1 situations too.

And abolish red cards for fouls in the area which result in a penalty being awarded, after all the goal scoring opportunity is restored.

On Figo, not sure about offside rule. Decisions that tend to stand out in people's minds are the of the interference with play variety, e.g., Rooney apparently stepping out of the path of the ball on Monday night. However, I think the bigger issue is around getting right whether the man was offside at the time the ball was played. So many mistakes here. A good recent example is the van Persie goal last week where the skunk had clearly strayed offside about a third of second before the ball was passed. No need to get fancy here. Just let play continue and allow tv replay -based appeal on the spot. T

his actually aligns with half of his 3rd promise around increased use of technology. The sin bin is a gimmick. Would that be used for dives? Or a second yellow card?
