Yes, if we get an additional CM, I guess Podolski will probably be out and Wilshere will be playing as backup to Theo on the right with Ox and Cazorla fighting it out for the spot on the left.

Vermaelen £12.5 up front (2.5 in add ons)

So £26.8.

Maybe not the Fabregas money, but certainly the Vela money. They paid us directly this summer to assume all rights. And that was a hefty payment from them.

Why not? We have some money going in and some money going out. Our net spend, now and in the coming years, is ca. £30 mill. That is what we were able to do back in our Highbury days. Hardly spectacular. If we don't bring in a solid replacement for Vermaelen and a top class central midfielder, this transfer window will be a failure.

It doesn't matter either way. We have more money to spend and issues with the squad. No excuses.
