😆
I hope we don't buy anyone else so I can be vindicated again about Wenger being tight.
Everyone wins! 😃
Except the team.
Meh.
There's only one thing Arsenal fans enjoy more than a winning team, and that's complaining about a losing one.

Sagna left on a free, Fabianski left on a free. Vermaelen was sold for around £10 million if you trust Spanish sources. Have we lost anyone else? Not sure where we've earned money this summer, unless you count sell-on clauses from the likes of Cesc and Vela (which is a bit absurd in terms of looking at net spend as a function of squad balance). I'm still hoping for a striker, but if we're going in big one or two players will have to leave for it to make sense financially.

We've made about £15 mill on Vela and Cesc. Why would you not include that in a financial assessment of our summer dealings?
This window has been at best average so far.
It's special money that apparently doesn't count even though you can save or spend it just like any other kind.
What's financially best for us is to assemble a complete squad and win a major trophy.
3m on Ospina 10-12m Debuchy 30-35m on Sanchez 11-16m
54m to 66m
Gonna average it out to about 60m
Vermaelen 10-15m let's say 12.5m Vela adds another 10m and Cesc 2m
About 35-40m net spent this summer

Because we had already sold these players ages ago. It's just money that comes back into the club now, same as new sponsorship deals or property development sales. It's not part of any transfer budget.

We got a few million for Djourou too.
Plus 10 mill for podolski coming up
a mill for that German geezer who was not as good or better than Gotze too.
Plus I bought a pie and a soft drink at the Emo cup

City have spent more than we have, haven't they?

Not when you include Reus.

it all counts as player sales. they can't go back to when vela was originally sold and increase the fee. for all intents and purposes we partially sold his rights the first time and booked that at the time and now we've sold the remainder of his rights this summer and will book it in the current fiscal year.
cesc, i don't even know if arsenal were eligible for anything because he was sold so cheaply.
of course it counts now. we just received an additional fee for vela. how could we have booked it back then when we didnt know what it would be? same for fabregas. these aren't installment payments, these are separate fees entirely.
No, Kami. It's magic money. Nothing to do with our player dealings. So far, our net spend has been a massive flop. Three weeks into the season, we've spent half our capacity and still haven't filled our two biggest needs from last season.
Mad days ahead.

Agreed, we should really just be looking to sell our net spend to the highest bidder at this point and cut our losses.
