Exactly. Coleman was by far the best full back in the league last season and Baines has been the best left back in the league for years. I know some people have only recently seen him for the first time at the world cup though.

innervision has a point though, because we are obviously talking about all of the squads on paper. Who knows how our new players will do in our team as well?

Fact is on paper both City and Chelsea have stronger squads. There are always exceptions where they flop badly, but generally speaking Chelsea's new buys are fucking solid. I am hoping Costa flops though, because if he does they would be back to how they are last season.

I don't want to underestimate our players, I'm really happy with our CBs (provided we get one more for depth) and our midfield. But there's a reason why we have the third best squad in England: Chelsea and City have better players than we do.

Chelsea have the most complete squad I've seen in the Premier League in the last two or three seasons. Every starting position is accounted for, and then they have very good options off the bench like Will.i.an, Ramires, Cech, etc. even at the 9, I'd rather have Costa/Drogba/Torres than Giroud/Sanogo/nutsack

Fabregas feeding Hazard, Schurrle and Costa is cause for concern.

Jose has destroyed many good strikers even drogba took 3 years to get used to what he wanted. Costa could have a big dip.

And im not sure if anyone else has noticed but Jose is becoming increasing irrational.

Simeone is similar to Mourinho and Atletico are similar to Chelsea though. I think that's part of what makes Costa such a good signing on paper.

Other than Costa their strikeforce is meh. Drogba is washed up and Torres is a joke.

Costa played injured a lot last season so there's a good chance he'll pop that hamstring again.

Yeah, perversely that's one of the few things non-Chelsea fans can hope for. He put a title-winning side on his back last season and was a one-man attack for long stretches of the campaign, and it's hard to have two seasons in a row like that. He's as solid as they come though.
