This is what I expect as well. Who was the last hot property we signed when a number of suitors were interested? Özil had only us and PSG, Alexis Liverpool and both were decently priced, Morata will cost a premium which we haven't paid in 10+ years

Well, the club is in a position where they absolutely have to pay a premium for a top class striker so I can definitely see this happening. We're desperate basically and Wenger obviously rates him.

Higuain seems more likely for PSG than Morata to replace Ibra.

Different players. Berardi plays exclusively as a winger at the moment. I think he has a good deal higher ceiling personally, but there's also a lot more to work on. And a lot more that can go wrong as a consequence. Morata already knows what type of player he is.

RT2: They state that Morata is likely to end up in the Premier Leage and that the team pushing the hardest to get him is currently Arsenal.

53m pounds. essentially what sterling and de bruyne went for. with the new tv deal and shallow market for strikers, i'm not surprised real want this kind of fee

and IF he's got the potential to become a genuine top class complete forward who can link in the build up, take on defenders with & without the ball, run into space, hold up the ball and can finish, then with his age he'd be worth it.

I think he has the highest ceiling out of all the strikers we are linked with at the moment. Moreover, none of the other guys have his link-up play, that's one of the most impressive parts of his game.

If you're going to gamble 53m pounds on Morata and Higuain's release clause is 70m pounds, then you need to open negotiations wit Napoli. That simple. Give them 55-60 and be done.

£54m isn't bad if it's built up to that figure in clauses, i.e. win the CL, League etc.

I do know that Madrid sold Morata for 16-17m.

So if they buy him back for 24m. They will account for a 7-8m loss gap plus profit.

You say that as if spending 60m on soon to be 29yr old Higuain wouldn't be a gamble. He wouldn't have the luxury of needing to adapt for a year, wouldn't have the luxury of getting injured. He'd have to perform right away.

I'm in for him as he has the right attributes for a striker, our team and to play with Ozil. Further, with our relatively young team (CBs aside) we could be really set up well for the next 5 years if we can sort out our coaching.

Reports today that we aren't in for him unless RM lower their asking price.
However same report indicates that we are in talks regarding another CF/ST and suggested that he is actually a smoke screen just as it now seems Wanyama was last summer.

Worst case scenario this becomes another version of the Jovetic-Higuain-Suarez summer.
