i dont think hes really afraid of anything. he is the most obnoxously confident player on the planet and he probably thinks if he went to watford or west brom he could get them into the champions league.

Rex: Then again I bet he would look at the league this year and feel that there isn't a single striker better than him. Harry Kane, Oliver Giroud, Jamie Vardy, Romelu Lukaku... you don't even need a ton of ability to stand out in that company. The only one who's class is Agüero.

if we're going to pay £40m for morata, we better be damn sure he has at least 3 more levels of progression in him, because statistically speaking, he wasnt much better than giroud last year. and ibra is the fucking king, to be honest

I keep telling you guys to not worry about Morata. He'll be the best striker in England inside 12-18 months. Bloke has all the talent and all the mentality that it takes to become a top player. Steel mind paired with plenty of technique and football intelligence.

This is the perfect time to sign a player like him. You do it when his stock is low, before he has stepped up a level. The alternative is to blow £60 million on Higuain and we all know that's not going to happen. We're going to regret it bitterly if we don't sign him this season. There will be load moans in the transfer section a year or two from now about how Wenger fucked up once again when he had the chance of solving our striker issue.

hes 23 now. if hes going to develop into a world class striker, then next seaso. is really when it needs to happen. it would be a big gamble, imo

It's not a big gamble if you've seen him play extensively. He's exactly the kind of talent you'd bet on taking the next step up. He was well on his way with Juventus but then they went and appointed Allegri.

According to a lot of well-sourced newspapers over here nothing has been decided yet, contrary to what he said after the final PSG game. His agent is trying to find a new club right now. He wants to stay in Europe. It's definitely not about the money, in that case he'd go to China or the US, or maybe Qatar. Bloke is a world class professional who still puts twice as many hours into training than everyone else. I think he wants to stay at the top for as long as he can.

My personal feeling is that he'll go back to Italy.

All jokes about Zlatan and his ego aside, that is one of the main reasons I want him to come to Arsenal. He brings with him an attitude that is missing here; the drive and determination to be the absolute best you can be, to work so hard that it's almost impossible to fail. The shape he's in at nearly 35 and the standards he's achieved throughout his long career; he's an inspiration.

So he will surpass Aguero in 12-18 months?
How do you rate his potential versus Martial?

Would still be a tough battle though, United and PSG can probably offer at least 100k p/w more wages wise if they were so inclined. PSG may be in a shit league but it's not stopped them from attracting far bigger names than Morata.

Agüero will either be gone or injured again in 12-18 months. Possibly both.

I think Martial has a higher ceiling, but it looks like he's going to play on the wing for a while at United.

Our transfer business is probably done after Xhaka. Only thing left on Wenger's shopping list now is a rightback.

TBH he doesn't even need to do that - Debuchy isn't going to the EC's so his reasons for leaving are no longer urgent or applicable re his age.
Alternatively loan/sell once Jenkinson is available, then replace both next summer.

I think I'd rather sell Debuchy and start next season with Bellerin as the only rightback in that case. Debuchy actually sabotaged the team this season whenever he got a chance to play. We're better off with a gaping hole in the squad.

With Welbeck out for 3-4 months atleast, Wenger would be committing suicide going in with Giroud as our only striker. If he has any sense, he will definitely bring a striker of some sort.

Debuchy is still under contract. Can see him coming back.
