Not saying anyone here wants us to sign Remy, but if our interest in him is real then not signing Balotelli is certainly much more about the money than trying to preserve unity in the dressing room or some such.

If you take headers out, how many goals has Mandzukic scored?

We get 1-2 penalties league penalties a year which are converted by a player whose penalty record is one of the best in the league. Is their any added value to getting a player who scores a third of his goals through penalties when we get so few? Now are you telling me our striker gets 1-2 heading opportunities on goal per year on the other hand.

The way Wenger dismissed Balotelli if anyone saw the video says it all really. He's not coming here and probably an excellent decision by our manager.

The main point is we're not going after Balotelli and thank fuck for that. I'm pretty sure his career is going nowhere.

No serious club would back out of a deal for Balotelli because of anything he did, or didn't do, at the WC. IMO.

Sounds like Milan are desperate to sell. Hopefully we can pounce at the right time and get him for €25m or something. Would be a nice bit of business.

That would be brilliant. Its possible i guess. Mandzukic and Balotelli are the only 2 obvious/realistic targets out there who would improve on Giroud. Looks like we're not keen on Mandzukic so maybe we'll wait it out and take a punt on Mario near the end of the window.

I've re-assessed my opinions on Balo, based on his World Cup showing.

That was him in a nutshell. One game, up for it, pure class, incredibly audacious, excellent performance.

The next, pouty, frustrated, bad body language, doesn't show up.

I would still take him of course (#AnythingButGiroud), but Wenger would have a real job on his hand getting him to focus on the game, and keeping him motivated and happy.
