Well if you look at Bayern strikers over the course of the last 10 years
Look, good effort, but wouldn't you agree Bayern were much more dominant this season and last than during the rest of that period?
Bayern's for and against for 13-14 was 94 to 23 of which Mandzukic got 18 in 30 appearances.
Arsenal's was 68-41 of which Giroud got 16 in 36 appearances.
Arsenal scored 1.78 goals per game and Giroud got 0.44.
Bayern scored 2.47 goals per game and Mandzukic got 0.6.
As a ratio of overall output their figures are about the same, and Bayern are absolute top dogs playing in a considerably more lop-sided league. No teams in the Bundesliga beat Bayern 6-0, 5-1, 6-3 this season ...
Giroud's playing in a side that concedes 2 for every 3 and a bit it scores, Mandzukic in a side that concedes 1 for every 4 it scores!
What I see is that Mandzukic would probably be an incremental improvement on Giroud.
