What Sturridge offers from the wing is pace, stretching play, and goals. That is basically where he played his last season at Chelsea, and he scored quite regularly from the flank. He has developed his collective game as well since then too; he is less selfish these days.

We have players who offer the first two and are natural wide players. Sturridge is a striker, a box player imo. The kind of striker that'll get you a goal even when youre under the cosh and struggling.

Exactly, Suarez has been the one they shift out wide this season.

England have a decent squad for once and can at least challenge Italy. Woy's more a coach than a tactician though, he can take them far but not the distance.

No but he's a better CF than Rooney.

I would drop Rooney altogether. Maybe he can do something off the bench.

Who do you play ahead of him then? Ox, Lallana, Henderson? He can still be a game changer thats why I'd have him somewhere in the line up.

I've read this morning that Suarez has injured his knee in training - may need surgery and is a real doubt for the WC.

Nah its only a cartilage scraping, I've had it done a few times.
He'll be okay to play in a couple of weeks.
