Definitely don't want.
Remy is a pretty good player, but apart from us being desperate for a striker while Giroud is out, I don't see to many upsides to signing him. If we sign no-one, I can understand the flak should we fail because of our lack of genuine options, but we need to go for the right player rather than just someone who happens to be available for a low fee.
Not sure how he would work in our system. Wasn't that great at QPR, though that may be explained by their situation at the time. His spell at Newcastle was a lot better, but not enough to sway me that he is better than Giroud. He would bring more pace to the team, but not sure how involved in our play he would be and whether he would thrive with the type of service we provide. Sanchez may be short, but he is just as quick and with better ball control, but our attack was set up in a way that did not get the most out of him in the couple of games he has been used upfront so far. Would it be any different with Remy? Possibly now that we have to plan without Giroud, but not sure if we should be going for a very different type of striker just because he is available for a low transfer fee. Walcott could probably do a similar job and Joel Campbell could even make a similar impact, so I would rather a much better striker in the Cavani mould. Giroud and Remy are nowhere near the class of the strikers at the top clubs and that could be the difference between us pushing on from our usual 3rd to 4th place battle.
Low fee, but apparently after high wages. If he is not an unqualified success, we will find it difficult to offload either him or Giroud should their best not be good enough. Also both will be fighting for one spot in the team and are unlikely to play alongside each other at any point. Again, he might even be behind Alexis in the pecking order so he could be a very costly 3rd choice.
Fitness wise, we don't what made Remy fail his Liverpool medical. It may be something that is exacerbated with our questionable fitness record.
