Only saw the highlights, and it seemed from them that Ozil was playing on the left a lot with Podolski closer to Giroud. Was that true?

Nah, not as as a planned thing. He did what he normally does; he floats around all over the place looking for space. Was good to see that Podolski moved into central positions more often. He can be quite stationary at times, but I generally felt he moved well yesterday, especially in the first half.

Good comfortable win, Toon were terrible but in spells we were back to our best with some of our play. Ramsey, Ozil & Cazorla were sublime at times for us

Sky don't just hire better pundits though. They have better researchers and producers. They put lads like Neville in a position to look good. Now obviously some manage better than others but if you transplanted Carragher for instance over to BT you can be sure he'd look like a clown.

Neville and Carragher aren't AFAIK on twitter either, that has to be an editorial policy of Sky. Or at least if they are they don't act like idiots in the way Owen does. Its just unprofessional and BT allow it.

Neville is on twitter, fairly active too. The impression I get from Neville in particular is that he loves football and also takes his job seriously. He mentioned on twitter once that he re-watched a certain game at 5 in the morning. Of course, it helps that he knows his stuff.

BBC are not bad, but they're too casual and relaxed with their presentation.

On the contrary, I agree with Kel. Podolski looked very poor off the ball. Many times in the second half, he was just idling along, with little to no movement to help out the team both offensively and defensively.

Neville must get his entire script from Twitter. Never once heard him go against the grain, so naturally most will find him backing up their views and agreeing that he's the best. He said yesterday that we needed some physical presence in the centre to help us compete against the top teams. Not that there's any point in being controversial for the sake of it....like this post.

Definitely not a top four club? What is that shit voiced cunt on about? We've not finished outside the top four since Chelsea were formed in a decade or so ago

Match of the day is terrible, Lineker and Hansen do my fucking head in. Shearer is one of the most wooden and boring pundits out there too.

The pundits all look like they get sedated before they come on though.

The problem with players as pundits, especially players who were in very successful teams is they think however their team played in that era is how all teams should play.

On the US front, NBCSN's studio analysts Robbie Earle and Robbie Mustoe are both fucking annoying. Earle is a complete twat and seems to have an anti-Arsenal agenda most of the time, and there's something utterly bland about Mustoe.

Arsenal generally aren't very popular with the media pundits, but winning the FA cup should help on that front. And then there's idiots like Earle, Owen and Townsend etc.

Earle was really pathetic as Ron Atkinson's poodle in the 90s when ITV had CL games but i suppose it looks good on his cv and that's what may have got him the gig on nbc.
Mustoe was a crappy nobody player so i am amazed he has got that far.

Take it for what it's worth (a very good source) that Owen was close to completing a move to Arsenal after his contract expired at Newcastle. Suddenly Wenger decided against it. Maybe that's why the grudge.

Sport 1 (Dutch pay TV) used to have great pundits a few years ago. Marco van Basten, Louis van Gaal (total idiot but an amazing pundit) and Ronald de Boer were all excellent. De Boer is still there but we never see the other two any more. Van Gaal got into a fight with everyone there, obviously, and Van Basten is too busy managing.
