Didn't they sign Modric in 2011/2012 as well? Not always mega money signings but they are looking to improve their team every year. Strikers or wide players tend to go for a lot more money than other positions.
Benzema
Yes, they did. And Alonso in 2009. It's not only £50m plus signings that are considered big.
Context fellas. Every team looks to sign players to improve. That's clearly not what is being talked about here.
Though even then, 2009, 2011, 2013 =/= every year.
After his comments this week I think Suarez might actively invite Madrid's interest

Well, it's a rumour from someone who doesn't write for a publication where every new sentence equals a new paragraph. That by definition makes it more credible.
That's

I'm not sure what the deal with Suarez' release clause is. If it actually exists, then Real might be able to get him. If it doesn't and he costs the 60 million plus he would go for on the open market, then I'm not sure they have the money tbh.

Suarez would cost more than 60 mill on the open market.
Surely he has a clause ...
Why wouldn't Madrid cough up? They probably make a full 100m pounds a year more than we do at the very least. 60, 70 , or even 80M to snag Suarez should be doable for them.
never liked benzema at lyon more over his time at madrid. something's just off with him.
Benzema at Lyon looked like he was going to smash it up. I can understand being more underwhelmed at Madrid though, though his stats the past 3 seasons have been quite good.
Daily Mail linking us again, not entirely surprising! I do think he should have become a lot better than he has. He had so much potential but I do think in a system which suits him Wenger could raise his game.
Daily Mail also saying we are talking to Balotelli's camp, hopefully true as important we explore all our options unlike last season!
I'm seeing people saying they don't want him. foolish -- he's world class and scores around 30 goals most seasons and he's not even the main guy at Madrid. Also, there wasn't a higher scoring / assisting combo in the world than Ozil to Benzema so it'll do him wonders as well, and I think Wenger could improve him even more.
p.s -- we have giroud up front.
I was going to post some stuff but Le Prof said it all.
Ps I was talking earlier about France in the WC and mentioned how if you needed a goal adding Giroud to Benzema was perfect. It's a great techy quick guy combined with a strong target man. Perfect when chasing a goal.
I really want Benzema. Unfortunately CL winners rarely sell their main CF.
Madrid are dumb enough to do something like that though.
Depends how much they rate Morata, i suppose.
The best part about benzema is he can create goals for himself at times. Something we're sorely lacking with our current striker options.

Depends if they can get Suarez too.
