I find Welbeck infuriating at times but the Welbeck is shit hyperbole express has been going full steam ahead this summer. It's quite amusing considering one of his last games came against United in the FA Cup where I thought people were overrating his performance.

However in this case I doubt it's so much the player, as opposed to where he came from and the circumstances of his signing.

akpom's not an arsenal-level striker. he's in the same class as others before him (afobe, bendtner, lupoli, aliadiere), and that should be obvious.

welbeck's a decent player, but i don't think we'd miss him at all if he sold him.
