They'd be mad to sign again.

I'd love for them to sign extensions but at the same time I'd be slightly annoyed at the lack of ambition if they did.

They both need to push the club a bit here, and not just for higher wages. They're in a position where they can ask for guarantees that we'll invest more in the squad.

At their respective ages this is going to be the most important contract of their careers. I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to let Wengers idiocy dictate their career into an 'also ran'.

If Arsene stays both will leave over the next two years.

Both were dumped by big clubs, neither has done enough here that will get the other big clubs calling or paying the kind of money we'd be asking.

You would have a lot of calls if either of them went on the market. The idea that there stock has fallen in the last few years isn't realistic.

So how exactly would it have risen and do you see United, Chelsea, City or PSG paying £40m or so for either of them?

Easily. Angel Di Maria went to PSG for 60m last summer when his season at United was clearly worse than any of Özil's or Alexis' seasons here. Even Benteke went for 40m, no doubt people would easily pay that for two of the best players in their respective positions.

A dud like Sterling went for Özil money last summer too.

I could easily see 3 or 4 clubs out there offer monster fees for our key players, including domestic rivals like Man City. We've sold to them before. Gut feeling is that we will do it again. Good value is more important to Arsenal than ambition.

I don't think so.
If the limit of their ambitions is to walk a non competitive league and go a round further in the CL then I guess PSG might make sense.
Bayern for Özil is about the only move that I see as anyway likely if the fear is that he leaves because of Wenger's limited ambition.

Unless the suggestion now is that they would see Liverpool or Spurs or the likes of Juve as better options.

I think Guardiola would be very interested in Özil. He has already signed Alexis once too and he wasn't this good a player back then.

Mourinho would love a player like Sanchez, so would Conte. Guardiola's already signed him too. Then you have the likes of PSG and Juve who would probably be interested. Ozil would find no shortage of suitors either. The notion that big clubs wouldn't be interested is quite simply preposterous.

Meh, when Ozil came up on the market last time PSG were the only other club in for him. When Sanchez came up on the market last time, Liverpool were the only other club in for him. If there were a long line of suiters, they probably wouldn't have joined the perennial 4th placers.
