you're right, i was thinking of co-ownership where multiple clubs own a percentage of the players rights, though that is just a kind of third-party ownership.
that's italy's problem because they're so racist and xenophobic. even if they fixed that, there's the issue of corruption, match-fixing, shit stadia, etc. it's just a backwards country by european standards, esp in the south.
