hope not. he looks like very good all-around midfielder in the making. he's a bit young, but i wouldn't mind us taking a punt and sticking him next to rambo.

mancs are going to be making big waves in the summer

Utd will put the "You can't sign top players without CL" myth to bed this summer.

United are United. They also have to offer the likes of Kroos £250k/week to come and play there.

Really hope not, he have a great potential to be a top class central mid.

Indeed, Lukaku really isn't as good as people think imo. If he was no way in hell Mourinho would entertain the thought of selling him. Eto'o will probably leave and if he is going to flog Torres & Ba then surely it would make sense to use Lukaku as backup if they sign Costa?

He's good enough to be scoring 1 in 2 in the league for Everton & WBA at the age of 20 which is highly impressive. He scores against the big teams too. Don't know why you would say that he isn't as good. Chelsea don't exactly act with logic in the transfer market all the time. My guess is Lukaku wanted regular minutes which he said no to because he wanted to get in Rooney. Mourinho is all about the present. All about the present.

Lukaku gets his goals thanks to his pace and power but his overall game leaves a lot to be desired. I'd take him as a WIP if no one else is available, but if you don't think he'll miss crucial chances in big games or do things that will make you want to pull your hair out you're mistaken.

He'll also score belters in big games and create chances out of nothing. Hes exactly the sort of talent Wenger used to gobble up and turn into the best in the world. Bloke has absolutely everything you'd want in a centre forward.

He's done it without someone really worrying about his progression as a player too. Loaning managers are just going to see what he's good at now and try to get the most from him. Chelsea don't give a shit about him. Some forward thinking coaching and he could get a lot better and that frankly is scary.

True. I just worry about situations where we're facing a team with 10 behind the ball. His pace and power won't be very effective, that's when you need someone with top notch finishing, a bit of skill/magic or great movement and right now he's not got any of those traits. Could be amazing but I'd rather someone who's already amazing. Failing that, he'd be my first choice gamble.

Chelsea (especially Mourinho) don't develop players. He is a potential world beater but why bother when you can spend €80m on Costa?

That is how I feel about him as well, I do like the player but we need someone who is much further in his development not another project. Even though there isn't much points difference teams set up very differently against us than Everton, he'll find it harder here because teams will sit deep and then the hold up play and link play of your striker needs to be very good to bring others into the game.

Balo or Lukaku?

Think I'd prefer Lukaku tbh.

Balotelli.

But if we want another project, I'd prefer Morata. He has a lot of the right ingredients to become a class striker.

Yeah Morata looks like a quality player in the making. Lukaku reminds me of a stronger Adebayor, and I never liked Adebayor even when he had that 30 goal season.

I definately want Lukaku. If Chelsea are mad enough to sell ... to us ... it would be insanity not to buy him. I have wanted Morata too since last summer. That would be an awesome collection of young strikers (+ Sanogo). Ofcourse it wont happen, would mean 3 young guys fighting for 1 spot. Lukaku and Morata both want assurances of playing time for sure.

A stronger Adebayor who doesn't have the problem of becoming uninterested after every brief period of good form, is young and will probably become much better, can run at defenders and has much better finishing?

Lukaku has great footwork too. He's a superstar in the right managerial hands.

....and stays onside!

Not sure about his mobility and striking of the ball, he seems cumbersome. And a lot of his goals, like Giroud, are first time finishes in the box and headers.

He would be ok as a backup striker, but then is that worth it considering he is a slight improvement on Giroud, would cost 20m+ and would have to be convinced to swap Chelsea's bench for ours. And we would still have to buy a first choice striker.
