City need the english players to meet their homegrown quota. They can't just sign anyone they like even if they free up some wages.

Wonder if City will go in for the likes of Shaw, Barkley, Lallana, etc.

They seem pretty comfortable that they can meet the quota after shifting
I expect they would also want to chase some Englishmen, but I can't think of too many available in the areas where they want to strenghten - CD and CM

Worth keeping in mind that FFP is a season behind so it's what they did last summer that they'll be judged on at the end of the coming season, not this summers actions. So it didn't take into account the fact that their net spend last summer was 91m. I'm not sure about the impact on the wage bill, but I can't imagine shifting Tevez, Toure and Barry will have much of in impact bearing in mind they signed Fernandinho, Navas, Jovetic, Demichelis and Negredo. You'd imagine they're all on hefty sums.

Offloading Tevez alone paid for their summer signings.

How do you come to that conclusion? Didn't they sell him for something like 10m? I know he was on ridiculous wages, but I still don't see it.

I think he is referring to wages, was on something like £250k a week which is why they had to sell cheap.

That would roughly count for three of the players mentioned wages I reckon.

The amortisation of Tevez's transfer fee was nearly £10m a year and his wages with bonuses were absurd - reportedly as much as £17m a year.

That story is so strange. He's mad because they didn't celebrate his birthday enough?

Didn't he just sign a new contract? What's movitivating all this drama over nothing?

yeah he's just angling for a move because i'm sure he's not stupid enough to think he's more than just hired help to these billionaires.

He obviously wants a move, he's done with City and wants a last big move.

Yaya's agent in 2012

Nevertheless Seluk said: ‘Toure has done all he can do at City and needs new motivations. He would like a new challenge. He would not cost much.

He could sign for many big clubs, like Chelsea or Bayern Munich. We would like to see Barcelona join the race.’

Yaya's agent in 2013

"If he signs a contract in the next three or four days, OK. If not, we will not wait any longer and will start negotiations with different clubs. Today is Tuesday, so it means by Saturday. We will say: 'Thank you. OK, Yaya will leave in May.' I do not feel he will stay at City. This is not about money. He wants to leave because of many reasons. He is one of the best players at Manchester City but does not feel the respect of the staff. Only Roberto Mancini respects Yaya."

Monaco, PSG, Barca, or Madrid then? Can't see anyone else paying his wages.

Nothing is happening. Read post above. His agent is bit whacko. He's city's only indispensable player bar Aguero. Not going anywhere.

Well if it's true and the owners did not shake his hand, birthday or no birthday, I reckon he's right to be offended.
Shows a proper lack of respect.

Depends on the scenario. If he offered a hand and it was denied then yeah. If not it's a mountain out of mole hill
