People said the same about Mata in January.

Where will Di Maria play? How will he work in van Gaal's formation? There are only a few alternatives and none of them are particularly attractive at the moment. I suppose they might abandon the 3-5-2, but I doubt they will.

They could probably buy 3 players that will benefit their team more than 1 Di maria for that price. Absurd.

If you can't find a better way to spend £60+ million improving that united squad then they need to execute their entire scouting staff.

Di Maria must be coming in as a CM, that is one huge fucked issue for them. For that cash you surely get Vidal who is the complete player at CM.

Maybe Vidal isn't available. I hope they haven't wrecked the market with their absurd Di Maria valuation. Hopefully, we can still find a CM

Di Maria is a top player but that's too much money. That'll put more pressure on van Gaal and surely it will limit their future spend on transfers

it's too late for vidal to go. juve set a deadline on when a deal could be done, but he's part of their plans now unless united offer crazy money.

I had similar thoughts to Dules. He was fantastic as a CM last year. One more central defender, and that's a decent attacking team. But there is so much newness - players and formation alike - that I can't see them gelling in 2014

united need at least one more class midfielder with defensive nous, and one class defender before i'll consider them a big title threat. if they get de jong and blind as is being rumoured, they'll still be far away from being contenders.
