That's not necessarily true.
Why would anyone want him, given that he's a complete mess with excessive wage requirements?
We've left better strikers than him leave so my money's on us just not being able to pawn him off on some unsuspecting club.

We know that a deal with Crystal Palace was in place and we know that we pulled the plug on that deal because we couldn't find a new back-up striker. He's an absolute assclown, but we've only got ourselves to blame for him being an Arsenal player this season.

Think about it - how many times has he been arrested and/or questioned by the police for bashing cars, kicking in doors or driving drunk? Add that to the stories about him refusing to pay for food in the middle of the night, insulting women in bars and being photographed with his pants down his ankles, and a pattern emerges. He immediately struck up a friendship with the worst drinkers at Sunderland during his brief time there. His blood alcohol level when he was pulled over in Copenhagen in the summer was high enough to put you and me in a hospital. I know that the talk is going between journalists even if it doesn't reach the papers.

Also - and I realise that I'm going to sound like Alfonso now - I know people who have seen him drink during the season. There are plenty of Facebook stories from people who have seen him on the pub too. He doesn't get drunk like normal people on a night out. He gets absolutely shitfaced.

Bendtner is a bellend with a moderate amount of talent so it's easy to get on his back, but one would do well to remember our own history. I suppose I don't like how, say, Tony Adams is glorified by the same people who are quick to bash Bendtner for his shortcomings. He's clearly a troubled individual. Having fame and money doesn't really change that. In many aspects it probably makes it worse.

Did you really put Tony Adams and Bendtner in the same sentence. Nobody glorifies Adams for his alcohol issues but it should be immediately clear as to why his career for Arsenal is glorified. If Bendtner gets over his issues and has comparable career for us then he can rightly be glorified too.

Edit: "Arsenal striker's trouserless Danish taxi assault" has even made the front page of our major news site.

I certainly didn't compare Bendtner to Adams as a player (I can't believe I have to clarify this). All I'm saying is that there's a difference between just acting like an arse and having a genuine problem. The problem isn't smaller just because the player is less talented.

Of course it's not and Adams also managed to overcome his problems which is also worthy if admiration. Hopefully Bendtner can do the same, if indeed his issues are more serious than just doing some really stupid things when drunk.

Thats because Tony Adams was a winner and a legend to most Arsenal fans, whereas Bendtner is a loser and a legend only in his own mind.

You missed the point there Biggus.

Anyway, Bendtner will survive, whatever sympathy you can muster regarding his decline. At this stage I don't care if he has a career, even now he probably makes in a week roughly what I make in a year so he can sort his own problems out.

Klaus mentioned how he didn't like the double standard that we apply to Adams and Bendtner, and Invisibleman and I pointed out that there is no comparison- Adams remIned highly functioning and sought help and helped himself, Bendtner still has to go down that road which he may or may not take.

It was here you missed Klaus's point, which I took to be that two players can have the same deficit of character off the pitch (and deserve similar sympathy if we're being just) while contributing in entirely different ways on it. As Klaus said, "the problem isn't smaller just because the player is less talented".

Think everyone is across the fact that Adams was a tiny bit more useful than Bendtner. I mean it's debatable obviously, the Dane has had some fine moments.

But they didn't have the same deficit of character, Tony faced up to his demons as did Merse.
If in the future Bendtner does the same, we may have a little more sympathy for a guy who had everything we all dream of but threw it away.

Adams is admired because firstly he was a great player who was absolutely loyal to the club and secondly because he admitted his problem and cleaned up.
Ultimately his behaviour inspired respect.

Bendtner is ridiculed because his behaviour is such that it attracts ridicule, I don't see why that's unfair or operating a double standard.
If you go deeper and think about why he behaves as he does then sure you would have sympathy for him as his problems are clearly getting worse.
