Do not want to start getting emotionally involved now as the past few summers have absolutely drained me and i know this one will too.
Anyone know a cure?
Julian Draxler
Why are you obsessed with him playing on the left..?
It would be like wasting Kaka out there. Good players can play anywhere, it's just not where he should play (and I've seen him play both positions pretty much the same number of times).
It's not like I routinely watch Schalke so I'm not an expert, that's just my opinion based upon what I have seen. If you want a left sided german, there's really only one choice and that's Reus.
Maybe Schurrle as well, to be fair to him.
Just don't fancy a player of his skill set (admittedly not based on much viewing!) playing at 10 for us. Prefer more of a passer to play that role.
Just download a game and watch it. Any game in the last couple of months will do.

If Nasri can play on the wings for us, Draxler can too. You never know about Wenger.
Going back to the 3 AMs era would be good for us if we can get 2 more quality one to complement Cazorla.
We need powerful dribblers in the wide positions, and this guy fits the bill.
Not mazy dribblers?
Edit: just seen this on the BBC Rumours page - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/gossip/
Draxler reported to have denied he is moving to Dortmund to replace Goetze, with the implication being that he is staying put for another season. Article the BBC links to is in Kicker in German - any translators?
He just says he will not play for Dortmund.
That was always nonsense anyway, Schalke woud never willingly do business with Dortmund.
Dortmund should raid Schalke for all their good players.
Heard Dortmund are eyeing Patty Aubamayingyang and Cisse
40m euro release clause in new two year extension.

this. though anything is possible.
Since we're constantly linked to him, I think we should resurrect this thread.
Having watched all of Schalke's CL matches this season, it's easy to see that Meyer is much more of a playmaker than Draxler is. Draxler is a pretty weird player to be honest. Very good technically, strong, good frame. Not very fast. Not quite a playmaker or forward. He's definitely a project at this point, and for 45m Euros you'd expect a bonafide world class player. He's not close to that level yet. Probably easiest to mold him into a left sided player who cuts in and looks to score.
I'm sure Wenger knows what he'll do with Draxler. I just don't think we need this sort of player, this team needs to win now, not later.
What is everyone else's feeling on this? Are you comfortable paying that sort of money for Draxler and not signing a centre forward that's significantly better than Giroud?
I'll be making a few Draxler match comps from this season's CL.
For 45m we could probably get Balotelli, Benzema, Probably even Cavani, Falcao or Ibrahimovic. No way should we be paying that much for Draxler.
I'd rather get a striker.
I'd still be delighted with Draxler though.
