I agree. As usual the problem is making genuine improvements to the first XI.

We probably can't get him anyway. Much to hyped for our wallets. No way would Schalke let him leave for 15, and I don't see any reason why Draxler himself would want to go.

That said, if we did get him, I'd be jubilant.

If we can't attract, and pay for, the likes of Draxler then we might aswell give up.

Schalke is arguably the third biggest club in Germany, a football nation on the rise. Draxler might find himself with the choice of either having a Schalke team built around him, or come to fight for a place in our starting line up. Sure we could pay him more money, but it would be a bit like if Wilshere was offered more money at AC Milan or something. Would he jump at that opportunity? And also, would we sell him for a, relative, pittance?

Maybe down the road he'll look for a new challenge, and then he'll either be a Hazard, and go for the biggest bucks at the richest clubs, or a Nasri, a sligthly dimmed wonderkid at an affordable price, and end up at Arsenal.

I'd say he is, though I'm not an expert in hype. He's got one more Germany cap, and he's three years younger. While Draxler has been getting games regularly since 17, Holtby only seemed to have gotten into the side last season, ie. like 20-21 years old.

Not really seen Draxler play before, but YouTubing him, he looks like a two-footed Gareth Bale, or similar to Reus at Dortmund?

Looks to have massive potential. And Physically very impressive. Might even be a Number 9 in there down the line?

I don't think he'll be a nine, mate. It would be like sticking Gerrard there.

So he'd play off a main striker for us then or can he become a top wide player?

This guy seems to fit the "top, top" quality Wenger used to go on about.

Off the striker in my opinion but wenger has his ways...

Left and right (though not as good as Cazorla on both feet).

Is there a serious link or are ... just ...?

Is Bale a pretty good comparison mate?

Pie in the sky.

Not in my opinion, no.

He's a good player, a very good young player from what I've seen but we can't put him in a midfield with Wilshere and Ramsey.

Looks like he can carry the ball at speed and beat his man - is there any particular reason why you couldn't see him playing wide left?
