I said that he was a good manager.
It's simple. Mourinho wins wherever he goes, and typically outdoes the previous manager, even when he inherits a winning team. People who complain that he wins simply because he is on wealthy teams miss the fact that the custodians of these wealthy teams specifically pick him over other managers because they believe in his ability to win.
That said, what he did this week had a bad smell about it. The players should be punished for not playing in the spirit of the game - i think FIFA law allows that. Not sure if Mourinho himself can be punished, but he would indirectly be punished by having his players withheld from him for 2 games.
As for the Wenger comments - he is spot on. Wenger has not won for years, and Mourinho was just saying what the rest of us have been saying. We should not dismiss the truth just because we hate the speaker

I used to dismiss him as a con man who got lucky but in recent years I've been forced to admit that he is a very good motivator and tactical coach.

Not really, he was calling Wenger a voyeur while we were still successful.
Funny that he has a go at Wenger for speaking out about him when Arsenal isn't winning just a couple days before he gets walloped 5-0. You know if Wenger was anyone else he'd be rubbing that right back in Mourinho's face.
