Barca can't sell players either for 2 transfer windows, right? Even if they appeal, it seems unlikely that they will be free to do business this summer anyway.

I don't know, but I bet they can sell. Doesn't seem right that FIFA should punish players who want to leave. They are punishing the club Barcelona.

Pretty sure the ban was for selling players too.

There's no such thing as 'punishing' players who might want to leave because leaving a club is not an inherent right. The whole point of a contract is that a player commits a certain amount of years to the club. His license belongs to the club for the remainder of the contract unless they, in agreement with the player, decide to sell it to someone else after that.

It is punishing the players because players leave all the time regardless of having signed contracts. It is also helping the club, as it prevents players from whining. Don't see why FIFA would help make it easier for Barcelona.

Anyway, I've read both that they can and that they can't sell players.

It's not punishing the players. It's punishing the club by preventing them to profit economically from player sales.

What a terrible list. Griezman and Gustavo are both bang average. Waste of money.

This is the wishlist thread. Ffs, Bony, Griezman and Gustavo would barely get into our first team. These are players Everton, Southampton, Newcastle etc should be looking at...

Bony would interchange with or play alongside Giroud comfortably
20 goals this season. Nobody on our team (other than Giroud) is anywhere near that.

Unleash Chamberlain next season and just spend big on a striker. Use the remainder of the money to go for a high energy central midfielder (which means not Gustavo). Everything else will solve itself after that. We'll need a few more signings to be permanently great but we'd have enough to wing a league title.

I have, several times in this thread. Costa (or Benzema) should be the ultimate target. If he goes to Chelsea, go for Mandzukic or Balotelli. If they are not available, then go for a young striker like Morata or Lukaku and blow the rest of the money on a class winger like Reus or Sanchez.

Wasting time and money on average players is what got us Giroud, Podolski, Gervinho and others. No need to bring in more of them.

I don't know who the hell people think is going to get a better striker than us this summer other than possibly Chelsea (discounting the Bayern/Lewandowski situation). We're pretty much nailed on to get at least the second best striker that switches teams this summer. Hopefully that's Costa or Cavani but worst-case, it's Balotelli or Mandzukic. It sure as hell will be someone better than Wilfried fucking Bony.

I'm interested to know why you want a high energy midfielder instead of Gustavo. Since we've already got Ramsey who plays the high energy role in our midfield, wouldn't it make more sense (for the sake of balance) to have a Gustavo in there sitting and allowing Rambo to press the opposition?
