not too fussed about left back. we have a decent back-up, and they don't tend to be ill simultaneously. rather our money went into bridging the 30 goal gap to Liverpool and City

No. He's a decent player but wouldn't get in our best XI.

I just can't decide on Gibbs. He's a very good player on his day and a good player most of the time he plays. He just doesn't seem, to me anyway, to want it enough. I think he's still the same player he was two seasons ago - is that because he's always breaking down when he's really getting into the groove or is him always breaking down symptomatic of his general 'not gonna push myself' attitude? Maybe I'm being harsh but I know he could be more than he is and it's getting to the point now where I don't know that he'll ever actually man up and become a 40+ game a season, rock solid left back ala Sagna on the other side of the defence.

And Shaw is rather good....

Assuming everyone important stays.

Shaw for somewhere around £25m.
Schneiderlin for somewhere around £15m.
Balotelli or Diego Costa for somewhere around £30-40m

There are other options out there, but something like that.

The two main positions are definitely a striker and centre mid. I don't think any other signing is crucial.

Are there any quality midfielders realistically available this summer, who can both pass the ball and cover space/win challenges?

I like Koke. Very good on the ball and great tenacity. A much better version of Flamini imo. Who else? Nainggolan, Bender, Schneiderlin, Matuidi...?

Striker is of course first choice, but we need an Arteta replacement as well.

Nainggolan has been fantastic for Roma. I wonder if theres anyway we could hijack that move....its only being made permanent in the summer. We badly need another Ramsey type.

The ban is only for transfer IN, doesn't say anything about selling.

Iturraspe and Mikel Rico from Bilbao would both be great additions for that role. Probably Iturraspe more so. Song Bilong too!

Ricky, Gibbs has already played 38 games this season. He is well on course for his first 40+ season.
