Winning the ball, low centre of gravity. Torreira and AMN are probably the only guys in the team who don’t play in defence and can effectively close down and win the ball / tackle. Although he has been off form for a while now.

Listen, it’s not about work rate, it’s about players who are willing to put their body on the line to win the ball back. I can understand why such a player isn’t appreciated because they have limitations.

Wishlisting day. 2 starters, and 3 young players who can grow into starters. Szoboszlai should replace Ozil when his contract runs out, and Thuram can either be a wide forward or replace Aubameyang when his deal ends. Gladbach bought him for €12m - maybe 20 gets him in this market. Dest from Ajax will be a Bellerin alternative. Dump a bunch of stiffs

Eventually when you pull guys like Thuram and Szoboszlai into the team, you have a big, athletic team that is still skilful enough to play pretty ball.

Ozil is going nowhere this season. He’s an immovable object. The only way Ozil goes is if we say we will eat that £18m salary. I wish we would.

What are your ideas?
I was thinking someone like Szoboszlai could come in to replace him over the year. Worry is how much money do we have? We have to manage our salary bill, even without Corona. And that means going for younger, less established players while clearing wasters from our bill.

Really can't see it. Even his first touch is a few levels below where it should be. (Compaired to young ozil)

I only count one first team signing in that wishlist, Claud. Saliba is already ours. We need Partey + a top CB or Partey + a top CM. Honestly, we need all 3, but I don't see it happening. One of these dudes has to step up in a big way, and I think it's more likely to be Guendouzi than Mari or Torreira.

If Saliba has foibles I'm willing to live with them for a season (I expect to have to). Luiz is not the man to partner him.

I really hope we keep Ceballos, because I'm worried about losing the only playable, technically excellent midfielder we've got.

Makes sense in many ways. 20% of his salary would fund a couple of Sakas' wages and they'd contribute more than he does. Would give him a damn good reason to get lost as well.

Only real downside is if it damages some other player's relationship with the club but I reckon Özil's raised his colours now, and everyone in the squad knows he's a want-to-stay bludger.

I was watching the world cup 2010 the other day and a young Ozil was truly unbelievable. He was playing and running so agile off the ball and so hard working. Like a peak David Silva kind of style, agile dribbler pass and move.

Even when he joined us his game has already changed so much from those days
